I was born and raised in Winter Park, Florida. Growing up in the natural beauty of Florida, I learned the healing and restorative power of nature. I attended Eckerd College earning an undergraduate degree in Social Psychology in 1970. I attended George Washington University Law School and graduated in 1976. While in law school I began personal therapy and experienced the value of a space in which to explore emotional struggles. After practicing labor law in Washington, D.C. I realized that law was not my career path. The analytical skills and the ability to clarify complex issues developed in my legal training are an important asset in my work with clients. I began Jungian analysis after moving to New York City and decided to become a psychotherapist. I graduated from New York University School of Social Work in 1983. My experience in Jungian analysis and my extensive study of analytical psychology enriches my therapeutic practice and brings depth to my work with clients. I have extensive experience in treating acute and chronic trauma, having worked in emergency psychiatric units and residential substance abuse treatment. Working with clients in extreme distress has taught me the the profound therapeutic value of empathy and compassion.
